A three-storey Victorian terrace in N5 needed parquet laying in the ground-floor hallway and dining room, and the existing parquet in the living room refreshed. We carried out the new fitting first, then sanded the whole ground floor in a single pass to get a consistent level and finish across old and new sections.
Matching old parquet with new material requires care over block size and species selection. We sourced replacement blocks to match the existing floor before quoting, which kept the join between old and new areas invisible once sanded.
Highbury (N5) is a densely residential North London neighbourhood with a high proportion of Victorian and Edwardian houses. Many of these properties have original parquet in the reception rooms, and we are regularly called in for both restoration work and new installations where the original floor was removed by a previous owner.
We cover N5 alongside Arsenal (N7), Finsbury Park (N4), and Islington (N1) as part of our regular North London schedule. Parquet fitting and sanding in terrace houses in this area typically runs to two or three days depending on the area involved. We carry repair stock and adhesives to handle any surprises that come up on the day.
